Page a Day in May: Making Waffles

It's that time of the year again. Time to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, which is May 4 this year. Every year, I try to post a page a day. I never quite make my goal, but it's something to shoot for. I don't have great hopes for this year either as my baby is due any day now. However, I have a few pages pre-posted and hopefully I'll get a couple more done. These first two pages are of my oldest and I making waffles. This used to be one of my favorite traditions with him.

 

These pages and all the ones I will post have been created in My Digital Studio, Stampin' Up!s digital scrapbooking program. I love scraping digitally. It is such a convenience in my crazy life.  I could work on this page whenever I wanted for however long I had, and when I was done for the day, I just hit save and could come back the next day.  No mess to clean up or get out.

Spring Class

Spring is here and I thought I would create another insert for the shadow boxes. So this months class will be the Spring collage and a Mother's Day and Father's Day card. Because I'm expecting a baby soon, I won't have a class in May or June, so I thought we better get our Mother's Day and Father's Day cards done. However, I will have other sentiments available if you want to do something different.

Class will be Wednesday April 17 at 1 p.m. or 7 p.m.  The shadow box insert is $7 and the cards are $2.00 each.

 

Hexagon Folder and New Colors

I love this new Hexagon embossing folder from the spring catalog and I had seen lots of cards with paper filling in the hexagons.  So I thought I'd try it out.  It's definitely not a card for a class or workshop, but it was lots of fun to create.  I ran the papers through the embossing folder and then sat down to watch TV while I cut out each piece.  That made it a little less tedious.  After I cut all the pieces out, I went back and glued them on a white embossed pieced.  I left the top third unembossed so I could stamp my greeting there.

The color I used was Bermuda Bay.  It's a retired color and my absolute favorite.  Then on Friday I got happy news.  Stampin' Up! is bringing the color back.  Yay!!! They are changing a few other colors around too.  Take a look

Service Opportunity and Just Cards Class for March

I have a service opportunity for my customers and friends. I send cards to an organization called From Our Heart, which sends handmade greeting cards overseas to our troops so they can keep in touch with their loved ones.  They are getting ready to send cards over for Mother's Day, but they don't have enough to fill their needs.  Here's where you come in.  Come to my house and make this Mother's Day card and then you can choose to make any other card you see here for free (limit one per person).  And while you're here, make as many other cards as you need for $2 each.

Class is Thursday March 14 at 1 or 7 p.m. at my house.

These cards use a lot of new products from the new Spring catalog and the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Sale-A-Bration ends March 22 so you still have time to place your $50 order and pick one fun new limited only product.  Plus any order over $25 gets you 3 of these cards for free.

Many of the sentiments on the cards can be switched out, I just happen to need a few birthday cards, so I went with birthday sentiments.  This class will be a lot of fun, hope to see you there.  Let me know if you have any questions.

A few Valentines

Here are a few cards I've been working on for Valentine's Day.

This first one was inspired by another card I saw on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website.  I used a new stamp and last years paper.  And it turned out really cute.

This is a card inspired by one I saw on Pinterest. It uses new ribbon from the Occasions mini catalog and I was so excited to use it. The ribbon is awesome, and I love the monocromatic look of this card.

This last one is a perfect "guy" card. I found it a year or so ago, (but I can't find the link right now), and just got around to recreating it this year.  This is the card I'll give to my husband.

Valentine Treats Class

I'm excited for this Valentine Class.  Class will be this Wednesday the 16th or Thursday the 17th at 7:00 pm.  I'll do a daytime class if you call ahead to arrange it.  So these are the 3-D projects we'll be making.

The first one is a home decor collage, I guess you'd call it.  Below is the piece without the shadow box frame.   I made it a couple of years ago and have had requests for it, so the squares can be changed a little bit, and I have a few new things you can add.  The piece without the frame is $7, with the shadow box is $17.

This is a little treat bag.  I made it in non traditional Valentine colors so it works for anyone.  Fun and cute, the cost for this project is $2.50.

This is a cute and simple project that I'll probably make for my son's class, and it uses products that are on Special this month.  For $5.95 you get the Heart stamp and 50 skinny cello bags.  But this project will only cost you $1.  RSVP if you'd like to come.
