More Tart and Tangy

I had my first workshop last Thursday. I was trying to highlight this stamp set and have some examples, so I went looking for some inspiration. I found a card here and changed it up a little, printed the sentiment on the computer and glittered up the edges of the fruit. This is my favorite of these cards.

Then I saw this card and I copied it almost exactly except I embossed the yellow with the vine embossing folder. Then I used green chalks to highlight the vines, but it doesn't really show up. Then I put Crystal Effects on the strawberries, so they are shiny. This sentiment is also computer generated.
But when I was finished, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would so I thought I'd change it up a bit. I kept the layout the same, but changed everything else up. The DSP is retired, and I used Crystal Effects on the cherries again. I like this one much better.
And for this one, I used a sketch (but I can't find the link anymore). Not sure I love the sketch, but I like the curly vine and the popped up strawberry "hat." I'll have to try that strawberry on another card.
And this idea I found here. Makes really cute, really fast thank you cards.
I'm really loving this stamp set and I have a few more projects in the works that I'll be showing soon.

Tart & Tangy

I won some blog candy a couple of months ago; it was the Tart & Tangy stamp set and a card kit to make these 4 cards. They are so cute. Here are some closer shots.

I just love all the fruits in this stamp set (the sentiments are from other random sets I have). They are so summery.

Birthday Card

This is the card I made for my mom's birthday. I found the idea here, but changed a few things, like the colors and the sentiment and the punched edge. I loved this card so much I made three more in different colors with different sentiments. I think the pearls in the middle of the flowers give it a nice touch of elegance.

Father's Day

I forgot to post what I made for Father's Day. This is for my father in law. I had seen several of these around the blogosphere and I got this great tropical paper, so I knew it would be perfect for him. I got the directions for making the origami shirt here. And then I added the buttons down the middle.
It's got enough room in the middle to stuff a bag full of candy.
This is the card for my dad. I made it a long time ago. I don't remember where I got the pattern for this one.

Sketch Challenge 159

This is my entry for this weeks 411 Sketch Challenge.

I used one of my current favorite sets 'Sweet Scoops.' The paper is Island Oasis. Another favorite. I've been hoarding the paper, and yet I keep wondering if I should order more. The ribbon is from my stash and I used a bling brad.

So summery, I love it.

For a friend

A friend asked me to make some cards for her. Here are a few of the ones I made for her.
These are called Lollipop flowers. Aren't they cute!?!
This one is so fun and summery
A nice masculine card with one of my favorite stamp sets.
Another masculine card, I stamped that argyle print at the bottom.
Oh, shoot, this picture is on it's side. I just now realized it. The sentiment says "from the heart"
I love this card. It was quick and I love the colors together.

Trendy Trees Case

So my second exciting announcement is that I finally decided to become a Stampin' Up demonstrator. I've wanted to do it for years, but it was never the right time, but finally it felt right and so I signed up. So I'm having an open house in July and I need samples to show. So I've been looking for projects to copy. I found this one here.
Coming up with an idea is the longest part of the creative process for me and I need stuff fast, so I've been copying a lot. I'll throw in a few originals now and then. This is one of my favorite sets, Trendy Trees. It's so versatile. For the card, I changed the colors and left off the stitching. I didn't have any brown brads, so I punched out three circles and covered them in Crystal Effects to make them shiny. I used a stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sentiment and I still got it crooked. Oh, well.

Stamp: Trendy Trees
